Introduction
The three-chamber test is the classic test to assess social behavior and social memory in rodents. The apparatus is divided into three interconnected chambers. The test animal is placed into the middle chamber and allowed to move freely, while a conspecific animal is placed inside a wire cage in each of the two side chambers. As social animals, rodents have a natural tendency to interact with nearby conspecifics. Social ability is evaluated by measuring the time spent in each chamber and the duration of interaction with the conspecific, as well as the preference for social novelty.
Yuyan Instruments offers a complete open field system, including the Sociability Chamber, video acquisition equipment, and video analysis software. The system records animal behavior during the experiment, and the behavioral analysis software automatically extracts target parameters, enabling objective and reliable assessment of locomotor capacity and anxiety levels. Three models are available: mouse, rat, and a universal model for both species.

Features
Professional design:Specifically designed for mice and rats; materials and sizes meet the morphological characteristics and experimental requirements, ensuring accurate and reliable outcomes.
Minimal interference:The use of video recording technology automates the experimental process, eliminates subjective errors introduced by manual observation, and reduces disturbance to the animals, thereby increasing the authenticity of the results.
Automated tracking and analysis:Video tracking technology automatically identifies the experimental animals, extracts movement trajectories, and analyzes experimental parameters, making the results more objective and precise.

Application field
The three-chamber social test is primarily used to assess behavioral phenotypes such as social ability, social preference, and social memory in mice and rats. It serves as a core tool for evaluating animal models of autism, mainly applied in neuropsychiatric disorders that lead to social impairments, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), schizophrenia, and mood disorders.Specifications
