Introduction
The open field test is primarily used to evaluate the locomotor activity and anxiety of rodents. Rats and mice display a natural aversion to brightly lit areas. They also have a drive to explore novel surroundings. Increased anxiety leads to reduced activity and a preference for the edges of the field.
Yuyan Instruments offers a complete open field system, including the Open Field Cage, video acquisition equipment, and video analysis software. The system records animal behavior during the experiment, and the behavioral analysis software automatically extracts target parameters, enabling objective and reliable assessment of locomotor capacity and anxiety levels. Three models are available: mouse, rat, and a universal model for both species.

Features
Professional design:Specifically designed for mice and rats; materials and sizes meet the morphological characteristics and experimental requirements, ensuring accurate and reliable outcomes.
Minimal interference:The use of video recording technology automates the experimental process, eliminates subjective errors introduced by manual observation, and reduces disturbance to the animals, thereby increasing the authenticity of the results.
Automated tracking and analysis:Video tracking technology automatically identifies the experimental animals, extracts movement trajectories, and analyzes experimental parameters, making the results more objective and precise.

Application Field
The open field test is mainly used to assess locomotor activity and anxiety in rodents. It is commonly applied in neuropsychiatric disease research, for example, behavioral evaluation of animal models of anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, and other neuropsychiatric disorders. In addition, it can be used in models of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD) to detect motor bradykinesia and abnormal exploratory behavior in model animals.Specification Parameters
