Conference Review

The 8th National Zebrafish Research Conference was held in Qingdao from August 4th to 7th, 2023. The conference was hosted by the Chinese Zoological Society and the Shandong Society of Cell Biology, and co-organized by the Zebrafish Section of the Chinese Zoological Society and the School of Life Sciences of Shandong University. Themed "From Basic to Applied: A New Paradigm for Zebrafish Research," the conference aimed to promote academic exchange and collaboration in zebrafish research, strengthen connections and communication between researchers domestically and internationally, and enhance core competitiveness in my country's zebrafish research.

The conference invited many well-known scholars from home and abroad to give special reports at the conference, including Academician Meng Anming of Tsinghua University, Professor Gao Shaorong of Tongji University, Researcher Zhu Bing and Researcher Zhang Hong of the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Yu Li of Tsinghua University, Mary Mullins of the University of Pennsylvania, Didier Stainier of the Max Planck Institute in Germany, Lila Solnica-Krezel of the University of Washington, and Kenneth Poss of Duke University.

Yuyan Instruments unveiled the COPAS FP large particle flow sorting system and the VAST BioImager zebrafish high-throughput imaging system.

As the domestic general agent of Union Biometrica, a US company, Shanghai Yuyan Scientific Instrument Co., Ltd. unveiled advanced research instruments in the field of model organism research during this grand conference: the COPAS large particle size flow sorting system and the VAST BioImager zebrafish high-throughput imaging system from Union Biometrica, a US company.

The COPAS large-particle flow sorting system enables high-throughput sorting of zebrafish. It can sort zebrafish or other large-particle samples by fluorescence, size, and other criteria, greatly reducing the sorting workload in zebrafish experiments. The VAST BioImager zebrafish high-throughput imaging system enables automatic positioning and imaging of zebrafish and can be expanded for use with various microscopes. These two instruments were welcomed by many participants for their unique design and ability to reduce the workload of experimental personnel, attracting numerous experts and scholars to visit and consult.

During this exhibition, representatives from scientific research institutions such as Shandong University, Jilin University, and Ocean University of China came to the Yuyan Instrument booth to visit and inquire about Yuyan's exhibits. The teachers expressed their views on the product functions and exchanged and discussed the shortcomings of the products. During the communication process, we gained a better understanding of the actual needs of zebrafish researchers. For product development and service improvement, we have gained a lot of valuable experience and unique insights from the feedback of researchers. Yuyan Instrument will live up to the expectations of the majority of researchers, strive for excellence in product production and technical services, and launch more advanced, practical and complete experimental solutions.
