The Y-maze is a classic behavioral test for assessing spatial learning and memory in rats and mice. Compared to the T-maze, the angles between the arms are more natural. It is most commonly used for spontaneous alternation test to measure the spontaneous alternation rate, and can also be used for tasks such as reward alternation.
